Cherry blossoms are currently at the peak around the Kanto Plain and most of eastern and western parts of Japan (except for the Tohoku and Hokkaido regions).

In Yokosuka City, Hashirimizu Water Supply Facility and its adjacent park are one of the most popular cherry blossoms sites in the area. Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of hundreds of cherry blossom trees and a priceless view of Mount Fuji only a short 15-minute drive from Yokosuka Naval Base.

The Water Supply Facility was constructed during the 19th century by French engineers and processes about 1,000 cubic meters for spring water every day. Visitors can enjoy the spring water from the facility at fountains in the parking lot. Although the water facility is closed to the public, the park is open for cherry blossom season and has nearly 150 cherry blossom trees to delight in.

This is a great time to get out, enjoy the fresh air and catch cherry blossoms before they’re gone!
