MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- This week’s Wild Weasel of the Week (WWoW) is Airman Quintin Humbert, 35th Operations Support Squadron (OSS) radar, airfield and weather systems (RAWS) technician.

Airmen recognized as WWoW represent the very best that each squadron at Misawa Air Base has to offer. Each selectee is chosen based on their superior performance, outstanding work ethic, and dedication to the U.S. Air Force core values.

For Humbert, no two days are the same—and that’s exactly what he enjoys about his role as a RAWS technician with the 35th OSS.

Responsible for over $2.1 million in equipment, Humbert helps maintain the systems that support more than 32,000 annual flights from Misawa. From replacing amplifiers to installing and aligning antennas, his work keeps aircraft flying safely and on time.

When a system upgrade was delayed 18 months due to supply issues, he designed a local fix that brought it back online—showing his resourcefulness and commitment to the mission.

“You don’t always know what’s coming next,” he says. “I try to stay ready for anything.”

Outside of work, Humbert enjoys movies, cheering on the Buffalo Bills, and spending time with his wife and their dogs.
