Spanish cuisine didn’t make its way to Japan until recently, yet it’s quickly grown to be a favorite amongst many Japanese.

On a day in mid-October, I tried cooking paella, a Spanish dish for the first time. Several months back, I had tried ajillo and it went pretty well.

In the kooky lanes of Kichijoji an atmospheric wine and tapas bar sits just round the corner from Zara, Gap and the gigantic patio of Starbucks.
