Placing an order at a restaurant or a store is something almost everybody does regularly wherever you live. So, it will be a good place to start trying out your Japanese language skills. There are useful phrases you can use such as “ijyou desu”, which means “That will be all.”

In many cases, a waiter or waitress or a store clerk would ask you,

“Go chuumon wa ijyou de yoroshii desuka?”, which means “Will that be all?”

If you are done with placing your order, let’s respond by saying “ijyou desu.”

(“ijyou” – total/from ~on up, “desu” – is, “Go chuumon/chuumon – order, yoroshii desuka? – are you OK with ~)

OK, stay safe and see you in the next episode of Speakin’ Japanese.
