Just like KPOP music, dancing and Korean dramas, dishes and desserts from the Peninsula are a hit in Japan these days. You’ll easily find yakiniku barbecue, kimchi, bulgogi grilled beef and samyeopsal pork belly during your time here.
Kan Terrace, a takeout only shop in Ashikaga City, about a 90-minute drive from Yokota Air Base, is serving up all your Korean food favorites to go.
The shop, under the supervision of popular Korean culinary researcher Inkun, offers authentic high-end Korean dishes made with local meats and vegetables. The dishes include traditional Korean fried chicken and gimbap, Korean-style sushi rolls often featured in popular Korean dramas and movies. Kan Terrace also has many Instagram-friendly and colorful Korean sweets, such as watermelon smoothie and hotteok (Korean pancake) served with ice cream.
Check them out next time you’re in the area or in the mood for some tasty Korean food.
