Craft Sake Week (Japan Craft Sake Company)
Sake is an important part of UNESCO World Heritage’s culinary culture of washoku. The traditional rice wine is not only essential in washoku dining, but it’s also used as an offering for gods and purification during Shinto rituals.
Over 400 breweries in Japan make their own distinct versions distinguished by rice, spring water and methods used during the brewing process. Sample from over 120 varieties at the upcoming Craft Sake Week at Roppongi Hills in Tokyo from April 18-29.
Fifteen restaurants at the upscale business tower will feature sake and various food pairings at booths throughout the 12-day event.
Under the theme of “mune-age,” or roof-raising ceremony, a wooden structure crafted by famous Japanese architects will be on display in the center of the venue during the period.
Sake lovers, don’t miss the opportunity to try some incredible rice wine!
