A new spot for Snoopy fans has recently opened in Japan, with SNOOPY Village welcoming visitors in the historic city of Kawagoe from June 26th. Set among the traditional Edo-style streets, this attraction brings together three different shops all dedicated to the world of Peanuts. It’s a fun addition to a city already known for its old storehouses, sweet potato treats, and easy day-trip distance from Tokyo.

Inside SNOOPY Village, visitors will find SNOOPY Chaya, a Japanese-style teahouse that serves sweets alongside exclusive Kawagoe-themed merchandise. Many items feature charming designs like Snoopy strolling in a kimono or holding the local specialty of roasted sweet potato. The shop even sells a teacup printed with Kawagoe’s distinctive warehouse townscape. There is also a takeout corner where you can pick up “Snoopy Yaki,” twist on taiyaki filled with red bean, custard, or sweet potato paste. It’s a perfect snack to enjoy as you wander the streets!

Another highlight is SNOOPY Chocolat, a brand that started in Kyoto and combines Japanese flavors with the warmth of the Peanuts characters. Shoppers can pick up chocolate-coated almonds infused with Kawagoe’s famous sweet potato flavor or browse a range of stylish Snoopy-themed goods like tote bags, mugs, and handy leather cases for gadgets.

Rounding out the experience is WOODSTOCK NEST, a shop devoted to Snoopy’s feathered friend Woodstock. It’s filled with small trinket-style and sweets, including Kawagoe-exclusive sweet potato cookies. Anyone who spends over 5,000 JPY across these shops can also pick up a limited-edition Snoopy mug while supplies last, making it a nice incentive for visitors to bring a piece of the day home with them.
