Prost! Oktoberfest arrives early in Yokosuka’s Verny Park.
Make plans to enjoy some craft beers, German treat and Japanese festival foods at Yokosuka October Fest 2025 from April 11-20. In addition to vendors, live entertainment from German folk musicians, magic performers, the U.S. Seventh Fleet Band and more are planned at the event.
Verny Park is next door to Yokosuka Naval Base, making it a good option for some fun right outside the gate. Admission is free but bring yen for food and drinks. This year, the event organizers are offering a “Happy Hour Coupon” for 1,000 yen (about $7), which includes a 300-ml glass of beer and a plate of small bites. The coupon is available weekdays during the period from 3-5 p.m.
Visit the website for more information.
Verny Park is a popular spot for visitors wanting to see U.S. and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force ships. The park is named after a French engineer who founded Japan’s first Western-style shipyard in 1871. The spacious park is home to various trees and flowers (roses are especially famous!), and at dusk, the area is illuminated with beautiful lights perfect for a romantic stroll along the bay.
