A popular cross-cultural event, Yokota Friendship Festival, aka Nichibei Yukosai, returns on May 18-19.
As the annual festival marks its 48th installment, it continues to strengthen ties between the base and its neighbors. The event is a big crow-pleaser and draws over 100,000 visitors for the weekend festivities.
This year, visitors can expect aircraft static-displays, live music, food vendors and a variety of performances, base officials said.
If you plan to invite off-base friends, make sure to plan ahead as there is no vehicle parking for off-base visitors available at the venue. U.S. and Japanese visitors over 16 years old must bring a valid form of identification, such as passport, driver’s license, my number card or a residence identification card upon entry. Non-U.S. or non-Japanese visitors must register three days prior to event. In addition, visitors will be required to have their bags searched upon entry.
