A holiday season favorite is back and Misawa Nakayoshi Park is covered in lights and displays.

Families enjoyed the opening of the illuminations on Nov. 13, which Yoshihito Morita of Stars and Stripes’ Misawa Office said was busy despite cold rain that evening.

The illuminations at the park, which is about a six-minute drive from Misawa Air Base, feature an impressive 16-meter-high Christmas tree as the centerpiece. The Misawa Chamber of Commerce installed 70,000 LED lights throughout the park this year.

The outdoor attraction runs through Jan. 11 from 4:30 p.m. to midnight, offering plenty of time for many to enjoy the lights while following social-distancing guidelines. It’s also free admission, so don’t miss out on this festive event!
