Fussa City in Western Tokyo is home to Yokota Air Base. The western side boasts traditional Japanese homes, shrines, temples and even a few sake breweries. Locals head to the eastern district for a taste of Americana, especially to Route 16 outside Yokota's main base, where many stores sell American goods. Read as “luck-born” in kanji, Fussa is often referred to as the “happy town” by locals. Try the tasty “Fussadog,” a local treat offered at six different shops.
