In Japan, you’ll find manga cafes around almost every corner. Though they seem more like amusement centers than cafés, these businesses have a variety of services including computers for rent, billiards, table tennis, darts, karaoke, showers and electric massage chairs. The comic book selection is vast and there are plenty of seats to get comfy in and get some sleep or read for a while, Anyone can use these facilities 24 hours a day, 365 days out of the year and most charge just 1,000 yen (about $9) an hour. During late nights, the cafes are frequented by commuters who miss the last train and are in need of an inexpensive alternative to a hotel.
