When shopping or making a purchase at a restaurant try using the following phrases.

“Kore wa Ikura desuka?” = How much is this? “. . . wa ikura desuka?” = “How much is …”

“Kono ningyo wa ikura desuka?” = How much is this doll? “Biiru wa ikura desuka?” = How much is beer? “Chiketto wa ikura desuka” = How much is a ticket?

“Motto ookii-no wa arimasenka?” = Do you have a larger size? “motto” = more “wa arimasenka?” = Do you have?

“Motto chiisai-no wa arimasenka?” = Do you have a smaller size? “Motto yasui-no wa arimasenka?” = Don’t you have a cheaper one? “Motto yasuku narimasennka?” = Can’t you make it cheaper?

Osusume wa nandesuka?” = What is your recommendation?

“Nandesuka?” = “What is ...?”

“Sore wa nandesuka? = What is it? “Ano hako wa nandesuka? = What is that box? “Ano tatemono wa nandesuka?” = What is that building?

“Kaado wa tsukae masuka?” = Can I use a credit card?

“wa tsukae masuka?” = Can I use ...?

“Doru wa tsukae masuka?” = Can I use dollar? “Kono kuupon wa tsukae masuka?” = Can I use this coupon? “Kono kaato wa tukae masuka?” = Can I use this cart?

“Kore wo kudasai.” = I will have this. “Motte kaerimasu.” = I will have it to go. “Mata kimasu.” = I will come back.
