Some big news for Pokémon fans around the world: PokéPark Kanto, the first ever permanent Pokémon-themed park, is officially set to open in spring of 2026. The Pokémon Company announced the development this week, revealing that the new park will be located within Yomiuriland, a popular amusement area located in Tokyo’s Tama region. Tickets are expected to go on sale in fall 2025, with further details on pricing and booking methods to be announced closer to the date.

Spanning roughly 2.6 hectares, PokéPark Kanto promises an immersive and interactive world designed to bring Trainers of all ages face-to-face with their favorite Pokémon. The park will be divided into two main zones: Pokémon Forest and Sedge Town, each offering a unique atmosphere and style of adventure.

The Pokémon Forest is a 500-meter trail that winds through a variety of natural terrains, from grassy fields to winding tunnels and forest paths. Visitors will be able to discover over 600 Pokémon, many from the Kanto region, in their “natural” habitats. Some will be hidden in the undergrowth, while others tower over visitors in impressive scale. The forest is designed for exploration and interaction, making it feel more like a wild Pokémon encounter than a traditional theme park attraction.

In contrast, Sedge Town offers a bustling hub where Trainers can gather, shop, and enjoy Pokémon-themed entertainment. The town features a Trainer’s Market, Pokémon Center, Friendly Shop, and even a gym. Visitors can look forward to live greeting parades, two rides, and plenty of opportunities to meet Pokémon face-to-face. The town’s landmark is the Primarina Fountain, which welcomes visitors into this lively space designed for fun, shopping, and new discoveries.
