YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan -- Being stationed in Japan offers a great opportunity to explore another country and all of the things a different culture has to offer. The Odaiba district particularily has a lot to see, residing on a man-made island in Tokyo Bay. In recent years the area has flourished into a popular tourist attraction with a wide selection of shopping, dining and leisure options.

One unique shopping option is the Venus Fort Mall, which features architecture in the style of an 18th century South European town. The mall is a combination of three malls combined that feature over 100 shops and a number of cafés and restaurants.

If you want a great view of Tokyo bay, you can check out the Ferris wheel located there. at 377 feet tall, it's one of the largest in the world and offers a great view, with all-glass cabins.

Joypolis in Odaiba is a great place to take the family with a number of indoor amusement rides and arcade games. Don't miss out on attractions there like the Halfpipe Tokyo which is interactive ride.

No trip to Odaiba would be complete without taking in the sight of the Rainbow Bridge, which connects the district with the rest of Tokyo. The two story bridge is an iconic symbol of Tokyo Bay and particularly beautiful when lit up at night.

All of these make up only a handful of attractions and locations that can be found in the Odaiba district of Tokyo. Other places you can visit include the DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, the Museums of Maritime and Emerging Sciences and Tokyo Big Sight.
