A new, larger ferry between Busan and Hakata will be launched in July, 2020.

According to the Asahi Shimbun, JR Kyushu Jet Ferry announced last week that the new ferry will be painted red and considerably larger than the ferry’s currently in use.

The ferry will be able to accommodate 502 passengers and due to its size, will take 3 hours and 40 minutes to complete its journey — 30 minutes longer than the current trip.

Schedules and fares for the new ferry are expected to be released next July.
