With the aim of exchanging cultures and spending a fun day with the local community, Japan Day returns to Misawa Air Base on April 6.

Misawa’s Japan Day started in 1988 to uphold the strong tradition of sharing cultures and blending the Misawa on-base and off-base communities.

This year’s Japan Day features traditional performances, a kimono fashion show, live music and other great activities and will take place at the Misawa Club. Food vendors outside the building will be serving up some delicious Japanese festival foods like yakitori and ramen.

Traditional rickshaws will also be available for fun rides outside the club and eventgoers can also try calligraphy, koto practice, kimekomi dollmaking and more.

Don’t miss the opportunity to share a fun-filled day with your neighbors and learn about Japanese culture!
