As the summer heat continues, you don’t have to travel far in the Kanto to escape the scorching temperatures and humidity. A trip to the beach or the mountains is a good option, but near Yokosuka, you can also hop on a ferry boat for a cool breeze, chilly drink and fun hula dancing.
The Tokyo Wan Ferry connects Kurihama (Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Pref.) and Kanaya (Futtsu City, Chiba Pref.) ports with a 40-minute cruise. If you are in Yokosuka, using the ferry is a great way to explore Chiba because it gets you there quickly.
Through Sept. 7, the Tokyo Wan Ferry is offering a “Black ship Beer Garden - Sunset Cruise” in the evenings departing from Kurihama at 6:15 p.m. Passengers can enjoy a beautiful sunset over the Tokyo Gulf with a view of Mt. Fuji, Cape Kannonzaki and Mt. Nokogoriyama with a refreshing beverage during the 110-minute round-trip cruise.
On the weekends, this special offering includes festive performances by hula dancers.
In addition to the 110-minute sunset special, the company also offers a longer, 4-hour sightseeing cruise and a 40-minute one-drink cruise.
Plan your escape on the high seas of Tokyo’s scenic bay area!
