In Japan, Halloween means many amusement parks are rolling out spooky decorations and events sure to keep you entertained.

Not to be outdone, Sanrio Puroland, home to Hello Kitty, My Melody and all the other Sanrio characters you love, is hosting “PURO HALLOWEEN.”

Pumpkin is the theme for this year’s Halloween festivities at the theme park only 40 minutes away from Yokota Air Base.

A visit during this season includes a special Halloween photo inside the Rainbow Hall. The Instagram-friendly photo set makes you look as if you were visiting Hello Kitty’s home for a Halloween party.

Through Oct. 31, you can check out Cinnamoroll and Hello Kitty in new costumes playing pumpkin-related games and dancing during the Halloween Pumpkin Time stage show in the Fairyland Theater.

At the center of the park, find a good spot for the Halloween version of the Mewkledreamy March parade. Check out the Sanrio character and other friends in their costumes as they sing and dance to some hits.

The Halloween theme spreads to the theme park restaurants where you’ll find a variety of spooky and cute treats and meals made up of autumn foods, such as pumpkin and sweet potato. Various goods of Sanrio characters in Halloween version are available, too.

A visit to Sanrio Puroland is great any time of the year, but it’s especially fun at Halloween. Guests are allowed to wear costumes (with some restrictions), adding to the festive mood. Grab your costume and get ready to celebrate the season with Hello Kitty and friends!

Note: As part of Covid-19 prevention measures, the number of guests is currently limited. For smooth entry, reservations are strongly recommended. Visit the official webpage for more information. Masks are required for everyone over 3 years of age.
