Ring in spooky season with early Halloween celebration near Misawa AB on Oct. 19!

Halloween is right around the corner, but for those of us who can’t wait, Misawa Town will be hosting an early spooky event to get the festivities started.

Head to the town center shopping street on Oct. 19 for the 26^th annual Halloween Festa. Check out the spooky decorations while the kids enjoy trick-or-treating.

The shopping street will be closed to traffic from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on that day so you can enjoy strolling in a safe, cheerful Halloween atmosphere.

The Festa starts at 11 a.m. with a treasure hunt stamp card game for kids (for the first 300 guests). Find all six Halloween characters to get the card stamp and win a prize. Sky Plaza Misawa will also have a drawing corner.

There will also be a costume parade and contest all are welcome to join from 12:30. Enter for a chance to win 30,000 yen for the best costume. Trick-or-treating starts at 3 p.m. with a cue of firecrackers.

Prior to the event day, shops on the arcade will begin to decorate and Halloween illuminations will begin on Oct. 16. Also, shop on the arcade between Oct. 12-31 for a raffle ticket for purchases above 3,000 yen. Prizes include gift cards of 1,000 - 10,000 yen.

This is a great way to kick off Halloween in the local community and get some early trick-or-treating in. So, get your costumes ready for Oct. 19 and head on over to Misawa Town!
