Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai is gearing up for a vibrant season of summer programming and is inviting members of the international press to cover its diverse lineup of events taking place from July through August.

This year’s summer festivities promise to blend the essence of Japanese tradition with future-focused innovation and global cultural exchange. Key attractions include the JAPAN FIREWORKS EXPO on July 23 and August 23, which will light up the summer sky with dazzling displays.

The Future City Pavilion will host “Future City WEEK” from July 20–29 and again from August 3–10, featuring interactive exhibits that explore tomorrow’s urban life.

A unique exhibition of the Birdman Contest from July 23–25 will showcase creative human-powered flight devices.

Cultural celebrations include the Guinness World Record Bon Odori Challenge on July 26, the Grand Ring Bon Odori on July 28, and the vibrant Nippon Domannaka Festival on August 2–3.

Sumo fans can look forward to the Grand Sumo Tournament on August 3, followed by SUMO EXPO 2025 on August 4, offering an immersive experience into Japan’s national sport.

For families, the Kodomo Mirai Festival by KidZania Japan on August 7 will feature hands-on programs for children to imagine and shape their futures.

From fireworks and festivals to futuristic exhibitions and sporting spectacles, Expo 2025’s summer calendar promises unforgettable moments and an immersive celebration of Japanese culture and innovation.
