Across Japan during July and August, traffic in residential areas may be affected as local residents parade in festive attire, shouting “wasshoi” through the streets carrying portable Shinto shrines - called mikoshi - on their shoulders. 

“Please take me to military installation” is “Kichi made tsurete itte kudasai” in Japanese.
