People in Japan live a long time, as you likely know, but did you know the country had the highest life expectancy of 200 countries surveyed by the World Health Organization in 2024?

Japanese live to a whopping average of 84.85 years old – 81.83 for men and 87.88 for women. If you’re curious, the U.S. ranked 48th at age 79.46, with men living to be 77.05 and women marking it to 81.98.
