On April 8, Buddhists celebrated Buddha’s Birthday, commemorating the compassion and enlightenment of Buddha. Called as “Hana-matsuri” (Flower Festival). On the day, Buddhist temples place a statue of Baby Buddha in a small chapel beautifully decorated with flowers outside of temple, so that visitors can pour sweet tea over the statue with a ladle.
