Our travel tips from Awaji Island -A short hop over the sea from Expo-

We can coordinate online tours or in-person visit at any time from 2022 to 2025.

Awaji Island, 30 minutes from Kobe, by car and about 1.5 hours from Osaka. Awaji lab, a co-creation partner of the Osaka-Kansai Expo, has launched 100 projects. Together with local companies, they are enlivening the region in preparation for the Expo and developing a forward-thinking project on Awaji Island.

Awaji lab is located in the north part of Awaji Island - Awaji city

There are two main points of activity.

(1) Holding events to express the charms of the island as a 'beyond Expo'

While the Expo's main venue is a place for large corporations to learn about cutting-edge technology, this travel project will focus on introducing the small livelihoods and the lifestyle and culture of the islanders on Awaji Island, which is blessed with nature and unique appeal. The entire Awaji Island will be as a field pavilion.

The aim is to provide new tourism content while valuing the traditions and history of a place associated with Japanese mythology, and to encourage visitors to take home tips on how to brighten their own lives.

(2) Awaji lab is a group of youth (university students and young members of society in their 20s) from all over Japan who have gathered on Awaji Island to design travel opportunities for people from all over the world.

Awaji is blessed with rich foodstuffs, culture, sea and mountains and is about an hour and a half from the EXPO venue. We offer relaxing travel content linked to the Expo theme “their lives will truly shine”. It is a special place where the generation who bear the future, can shine brightly and share that light with the global community.
