SASEBO, Japan (Nov. 2, 2021) Lt. Cmdr. Lawrence Hanks salutes the national anthem during change of command ceremony. Hanks relieved Lt. Cmdr. Earvin Taylor as commanding officer of the Avenger-class mine countermeasures ship USS Patriot (MCM 7). Patriot, part of Mine Countermeasures Squadron 7, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response platform for contingency operations.
