KADENA AIR BASE, Japan. -- U.S. Air Force Airman Aiden Smith, left, 18th Munitions Squadron conventional maintenance technician, tightens a cover strap from a joint direct attack munition guidance tail kit on an inert GBU-31 during bomb building training at Kadena Air Base, Japan, Oct. 22, 2024. Airmen from the 18th MUNS, 3rd MUNS, and 20th EMS conducted bomb building training by properly inspecting and preparing inert GBU-31s before installing them with JDAM kits.
