Congratulations to Airman 1st Class Myles Gaskins, 374th Force Support Squadron food service technician, on being the Airlifter of the Week!
Shortly after arriving to Yokota Air Base in June 2019, Gaskins arrival was instrumental to the Samurai Café Dining Facility team gaining the nomination for the 'Region Two Hennessy Award'. After starting as a food service apprentice, he gained recognition from his peers and superiors and became a Shift Leader as an A1C - currently he leads three chefs and three airmen, serving 5K weekly meals. Gaskins also managed to finish his CDCs in under 6 months making his work ethic & unit involvement a tone for his peers to emulate.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, A1C Gaskins assisted in preparing Contingency Quarters for 400 inbound ROM personnel. He sorted and staged linen in each room and submitted work orders for minor repairs. A1C Gaskins is the epitome of "service before self" as he was awarded 'Chef of the Month' in March 2020 at the Samurai Café Dining Facility.
For all of the amazing work you have done and will continue to do, thank you and congratulations again to Airman 1st Class Myles Gaskins.
