If you have not noticed, mango is reaching peak ripeness on Okinawa.
If you go to a local farmers’ market, you can buy one for a very reasonable price. Or, you might even find it as a topping on sweets like ice cream or kakigori.
Why not treat yourself to this juicy tropical fruit and try this Japanese phrase:
“Mango ga tabegoro desu,” which means “mango is in season.” (“ga”– a particle to indicate a subject, “tabegoro” – seasonal/in season, “desu” – am/is/are)
