In Japan, there are cafes themed around just about anything you can imagine. Whether you fancy robots, reading manga or hanging out with some furry friends, you’ll find a café for it here.
For many visitors, cuddling with cats or holding an owl at a café are popular options. There are also Gundam, Pokemon and Sanrio-themed cafes where fans can enjoy a variety of kawaii menu items and get a bunch of photos.
In Osaka City, Kotoricafe Shinsaibashi is bringing photogenic sweets, drinks and parrots together. Enjoy an afternoon with Polly and other exotic birds like parakeets, budgerigars, cockatiels, and lovebirds at Kotoricafe Shinsaibashi. The café also has what is considered one of the most beautiful parrots in the world, Major Mitchell’s Cockatoo, a hybrid of an umbrella and blue-eyed cockatoo.
While you’re there, try the “Pururun Jelly Drink,” a seasonal drink with jelly and soda for 880 yen (about $7) with an additional ice cream topping option for 220 yen. The drink comes in three flavors including blue Hawaii, melon or coffee.
The café is a great stop to cool down, slow down and enjoy some lovable parrots and more. Make plans for another great themed café in Japan! Kotoricafe has a second location in Tokyo near Ueno Station.
