Iwakuni, Japan (Release: January, 2021) – Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Worldwide Campus is pleased to announce the opening of a new campus location in Iwakuni, Japan. View the grand opening video message.
In September 2019, Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) decided to include another University to Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) in Iwakuni to focus on the installation's growing aviation population. A temporary campus location opened in February 2020 to assess the demand for ERAU programs in response to an
Education Center Services Officer's invitation. After a careful assessment, including oversight by the Yokosuka Campus, the Iwakuni Campus has officially opened a permanent location.
Nicole Ash, Assistant Campus Director for Iwakuni, currently serves 70 plus students despite challenging limitations with outreach events. Ash is a retired Marine Veteran and Navy spouse with career experience in higher education and servicing military personnel as students pursuing their academic goals.
"The addition of ERAU programs in Iwakuni is a tremendous step forward in providing our community with quality education relevant to our needs," said Jessica Perdew, previous manager for Iwakuni’s Education and Career Program. "Aviation programs are important to service members on an aviation installation. "We're tasked with ensuring educational offerings align with the interests and needs of our installation population. ERAU's programs help us to accomplish that requirement."

About Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Campus Locations in the Pacific
The first campus locations, Kadena and Camp Humphreys started offering classes in August 2015. By October 2016, three more campuses opened in Yokosuka, Atsugi, and Yokota. Osan Campus later opened in October 2017, followed by Misawa Campus in March 2019. Campus staff also support nearby military attachments such as Camp Foster, Camp Kinser, & Kunsan (to name a few).
