Yokota’s local roller derby team, Fuji Flatliners, is now recruiting skaters, officials, and volunteers.

Fuji Flatliners are a women’s flat-track roller derby team played on quad skates. No skating experience is required to play; we will teach you how to skate safely along with the rules of the game. Please contact us for information on visiting practices, and trying on or purchasing gear. The team currently practices two-to-three times a week on Yokota Air Base, with no current minimum attendance requirement. We also participate in events with other leagues, such as special trainings with the Zama Killer Katanas or special skate nights with Yokosuka Sushi Rollers.

Roles for officials are on or off skates, and all genders are welcome. We will teach you how to officiate on skates (quads or inline) or off-skates according to your preference. Officials will meet several times a quarter to learn rules and prepare for upcoming scrimmages against local teams. More time may be needed if skating training is required.

Volunteers of any kind are welcome for various positions on the board or on committees, including: recruitment, marketing and public relations, events and fundraising, and more.
