Yokota Air Base – The Yokota Exchange is all in to help service members and their families meet their dietary and nutritional goals by making it simple to find healthy meals.

As part of the Army & Air Force Exchange Services’ BE FIT 360 program, designed to support a healthy and active lifestyle, the Yokota Exchange offers better-for-you meals, snacks and beverages at its restaurants and Expresses.

“The Exchange recognizes a healthy diet is essential to building a ready, resilient and lethal military,” said Yokota Exchange General Manager Andrew Defelice.

“Members of the Installation community can rely on the Exchange to provide the fuel necessary to complete their missions.”

All of the Yokota Exchange’s restaurants offer healthy options, including:

Charleys offers items with 300 calories or fewer including grilled chicken, steak and garden salads, as well as a selection of small cheesesteaks with fewer than 500 calories. Taco Bell offers meals that fit all lifestyles, made with high-quality ingredients. There are more than 30 vegetarian ingredients on the menu, the majority of which are also certified vegan. These can be combined for nearly 1,000 breakfast combinations and nearly 1 million combinations the rest of the day! Almost any item can be ordered fresco style, which replaces ingredients typically higher in calories and fat with fresh pico de gallo. Subway offers more than a dozen sandwiches with 350 calories or fewer including turkey breast, oven-roasted chicken, Veggie Delight and Black Forest ham. There are more than 120 low-calorie items at Einstein Bros. Bagels, all under 500 calories. This includes hot sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit cups and yogurt parfait.

Making healthy choices is also easy on shoppers’ wallets, with participating Yokota restaurants offering $2 off salads valued at $4 or more every Wednesday.

Shoppers can easily identify BE FIT-approved items at Expresses with the Healthier Choices, Healthier Lifestyle shelf tags. Shoppers can find drinks and low-sodium snacks with less than 200 calories, including fresh fruit, yogurt, trail mix and nuts, energy bars, tuna, veggie chips, bottled water, fat free or 1% milk, fortified low sugar soy, almond or rice milk, and whole grain cereal.

The Yokota Exchange’s commitment to support healthy lifestyles also extends to its vending machines, with snack items such as baked chips, dried fruit and trail mix, fulfilling the National Automatic Merchandising Association’s Fit Pick requirements. Items contain fewer than 35% of calories from fat, fewer than 10% of calories from saturated fat and fewer than 35% total weight from sugar.

Authorized shoppers can learn more at the Exchange’s BE FIT hub page at ShopMyExchange.com/BeFit.
