Yokosuka firefighters recognized at Navy F&ES

Firefighters at Yokosuka were recognized for the 2023 Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) Awards in March. Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) fire and emergency services received the designation of Medium Fire Department of the Year. The team moves onto the next level of competition at the Department of Defense DOD Fire and Emergency Services Awards.
The team also received runner-up designations in other categories of the F&ES including Instructor of the Year, Fire Chief of the Year, Fire Prevention Program of the Year.
Robert Wimes, fire chief of Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) fire and emergency services, will travel to Maryland to receive the award on behalf of the department in May.
