When a typhoon lands on Okinawa, there will almost always be the need to do a lot of cleanup after. It doesn’t make me feel good to see so much mess and chaos going on in my backyard.
In a time like this, I want to say out loud, “Katazuke ga ookute unzari desu,” which means, “I’m sick and tired of so much cleanup.”
(“katazuke” – cleanup/tidying up, “ga” – an article to indicate a subject, “ookute/ooi” – many, “unzari desi” – I’m tired of)
This typhoon season continues, so let’s hunker down and get ready for another cleanup. See you in the next episode of Speakin’ Japanese.
