Narration: A 5K Fun Run held on June 12th kicked off Army Week activities on Camp Zama, drawing dozens of runners for the event.

Soldiers, civilian employees, Japan Ground Self-Defense Force members, local-national employees, and adult and youth family members came out to compete in the event despite the rainy weather.

The run began in front of Yano Fitness Center and led the participants on a route that included the U.S. Army Japan headquarters, Zama Middle High School, and various housing areas before ending back at Yano.

Narration: This year's Army Week was held in conjunction with the celebration of the Army's 248th birthday. Other Army Week activities offered Soldiers and other members of the Camp Zama community the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities and recreational events during the week.
