YOKOSUKA, Japan (NNS) -- Capt. Robert "Bo" Johns relieved Capt. Adam Aycock as the commanding officer of the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Shiloh (CG 67) during a change of command ceremony, Aug. 30.

Aycock has served as Shiloh's commanding officer since June 2015 and has orders to the U.S. Naval War College for his next tour.

Shiloh is in port Yokosuka as part of a maintenance period before continuing on patrol later in the year to the Indo-Asia-Pacific as the ballistic missile defense warfare commander and the air defense warfare commander for Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 5. Shiloh departed with the strike group earlier in 2017 and participated in Talisman Saber 2017 with assets from the Royal Australian Defence Forces.

Johns' previously commanded USS Stockdale (DDG 106).

Shiloh is forward-deployed to Yokosuka, Japan, supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific.
