Camp Zama – Military shoppers who reach for their MILITARY STAR® card at Army & Air Force Exchange Service stores at Camp Zama are strengthening their entire community.

In 2020, Camp Zama shoppers who used their MILITARY STAR cards—available exclusively to military members, retirees, Veterans and military dependents worldwide—saved the Exchange $31,102.97 by avoiding transaction fees associated with bank cards.

The Camp Zama savings is part of the worldwide fee avoidance savings of $28.7 million, which includes Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard exchanges, as well as commissaries.

“Since 100% percent of Exchange’s earnings are reinvested in the military community, avoiding transaction fees means more money going to our heroes and their families,” said Camp Zama Exchange General Manager Eileen Al-Sayed. “That’s why using MILITARY STAR benefits not just the cardholders, but the entire Camp Zama community.”

The MILITARY STAR rewards program also earns cardholders 2% in rewards points on purchases, and cardholders receive a $20 rewards card every 2,000 points. Shoppers worldwide received over $32.8 million in rewards cards in 2020.

Other benefits of MILITARY STAR include:

  • One low APR (10.24%) for all cardholders, regardless of credit score.

  • No late, annual or over-limit fees.

  • 10% off first-day purchases for new cardholders.
