Yokota Air Base, Japan -- The 374th Medical Group pharmacy now offers a fast, over-the-counter option for Team Yokota patients in need of cough, cold and allergy relief.

Yokota members can now visit the pharmacy for assistance without having to make an appointment with their primary care manager.

The pharmacy will treat acute symptoms of:

  • Seasonal allergies

  • Cough

  • Cold

  • Fever

  • Minor aches and pains

  • Chest congestion

  • Runny nose

“This program will release some of the stress from the providers,” said Master Sgt. Stacey D. Morrow Jr., 374th Medical Support Squadron Diagnostics and Therapeutics flight chief. “By the pharmacy seeing some of the more season-related patients, it will allow the 374th MDG more flexibility as far as scheduling appointments for more urgent matters.”

Patients visiting the pharmacy will be required to fill out a screening form detailing their symptoms and then will be seen by a pharmacist that will prescribe the appropriate medications. Depending on the severity of the situation, the individual may be referred to their PCM.

As part of their eligibility criteria, the patient must be:

  • Active duty, retiree, or a dependent 18 years or older

  • Not pregnant

  • Not on Personnel Reliability Program status

  • Not on flying status

  • Not a firearm carrier as part of their official duty

This service is available during normal operating hours, which are Monday – Friday 7:30am-4:30pm.
