Yokota Friendship Fest. to be held Sept. 14-15
Get ready for two days of aircraft, entertainment, food and fun as Yokota Air Base hosts its annual Friendship Festival on Sept. 14 and Sept. 15.
This festival is an opportunity for the base’s Japanese neighbors to visit and experience American culture while strengthening the bond between the local communities.
Dozens of aircraft will be on display when the crowds overtake the base flight line, and a variety of music acts and other entertainment will amuse the tens of thousands expected to visit over the two days. Many food and drink vendors will also be on site selling both Japanese and American foods.
The festival will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on both days and the fireworks show starts at 8:20 p.m. on Sept. 15, marking the end of the festivities.
Non-SOFA visitors should enter through the Supply Gate #5 of the base with a valid photo ID showing nationality. Visitors under 17 must be accompanied by an adult older than 18 years of age. Large bags, alcohol, glass bottles, and cooler boxes will not be allowed.
