From late autumn through winter, elaborate and colorful light displays throughout the nation ring in the holiday spirit with dazzling brilliance. These displays or “illuminations,” are some of Japan’s most popular winter attractions, drawing millions of visitors to different locations around the country to spend the evening strolling the displays. There are many around local theme parks and shopping centers like Yomiuriland in Kawasaki, Tokyo Midtown, Showa Kinen Park in Tachikawa, and many more. Take some time this holiday season to check out the illuminations while you’re stationed in Japan!
