VIDEO: Head to Oita City for winter wonderland of lights

Enjoy beautiful holiday illuminations in Oita City’s center. To get here is about a 3-hour drive from Sasebo Naval Base, and the views are well worth the trip.

From 5 p.m. to midnight, visitors can enjoy the “Fantasy of Lights” starting from Oita Station through Showa Boulevard, Funai Aqua Park and Wakakusa Park. The display runs through Feb. 14, so there’s plenty of time to get to Oita this season.

The seasonal decorations feature over 430,000 LED lights and a gigantic Christmas tree everyone in your family will love.
