Called Akiba for short, the Akihabara district of Tokyo is known for its hundreds of electronics shops and game arcades. This also happens to be the center of theme cafes and “maid cafes,” where waitresses dressed like anime maids serve up drinks, kawaii foods and perform for customers. Manga fans and J-Pop idol fans also crowd the area to buy limited merchandise and shows at the idol cafes. This is a hot spot for tourists and locals, so make sure to stop by and enjoy all this “Electric Town” has to offer!
