Tokyo's Takanawa Cherry Blossom Festival through Apr. 9: Over 200 sakura trees in over a dozen types to enjoy

There are three Prince Hotels in the Takanawa area of Tokyo – the Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa, the Grand Prince Hotel Shin-Takanawa, and the Prince Sakura Tower Tokyo. The sprawling Takanawa no Mori Park sits in the middle of them, and it's particularly delightful in spring with over 200 cherry blossom trees in seventeen varieties adding some ethereal beauty to the area.

The Takanawa Sakura Festival held at the park is a celebration of all things spring, and along with the daytime appreciation of the blooms there will also be evening illuminations from 5:30 pm until 11 pm.

GETTING THERE

Takanawa no Mori Park is located an easy five minutes on foot from Shinagawa Station. The station is served by various lines, including the Tokaido Shinkansen, the JR Yamanote Line, and the Keikyu Main Line to name just a few.
