While in Japan, you may want to enjoy some Edo‑period atmosphere in a classical town with traditional delicacies and goods for sure. I guess you may head to Asakusa looking for the Edo vibe, while some are heading to Kawagoe in Saitama Prefecture and others to Sawara in Chiba Prefecture.
But at Toyosu Senkyaku Banrai, a new market complex, you can easily experience this old Japan atmosphere in central Tokyo.
The complex is just next door to the gigantic Tokyo Toyosu Market and offers a wide range of street food, souvenirs and a large onsen hot spring facility.
Walk along the impressive street lined with shops in traditional-style wooden buildings and chochin lanterns. You can try fresh sushi, tempura, unagi, yakitori and more at one of the 37 restaurants and food stalls available.
After a tasty meal, shop for some great souvenirs in shops along the street. Then, take a break at the Tokyo Man-yo Club onsen or soak your tired feet at the free foot onsen.
If you are lucky, you may encounter samurai and ninja who suddenly start fighting around the street or even in front of you.

Don’t miss a stop at the Toyosu Market because the 100‑acre facility accommodates more than 600 wholesalers offering vast amounts of seafood and vegetables, as well.
You may already know the massive market, since it was the site where a single 516‑pound bluefin tuna was auctioned earlier this year (2026) for the astonishing price of 510,300,000 yen (USD $3.189 million).
Don’t miss its fourth floor, which houses more than 70 shops known collectively as Uogashi Yokocho where you can buy various non‑perishable goods, such as sake, bonito flakes, kitchen utensils, and tea, along with traditional Tokyo‑style foods like tamagoyaki (soy‑flavored omelet) and various pickles!
