Tokyo Toy Festival until Nov. 20

Tokyo Toy Festival until Nov. 20
Located in a renovated former school building in Yotsuya, there couldn’t be a more perfect location for the Tokyo Toy Museum. Unlike other museums which focus on gallery-like exhibitions and glass-boxed artifacts, the Tokyo Toy Festival embraces and encourages interaction, creation and, of course, play. Children and adults alike are welcome to play with a large variety of wooden toys that originate from different regions of Japan. There’ll be over 80 booths plus workshops throughout the day to make your own toys. Staff and craftsmen from toy companies will be on hand to share the history and design process of each toy. Purchase your favorite as a memento or simply go for the experience. Make sure children go with an adult otherwise they’ll be denied entry, and although strollers aren’t allowed inside the venue there’s a safe storage area on site.
