Terrace Mall Shonan

In Tsujido, home to the scenic Shonan Beach, you can shop ‘til you drop at Terrace Mall Shonan, one of the largest shopping centers in the area.

Tsujido is a popular town with a nice atmosphere and, at about 40 minutes away, is a relatively short drive from Camp Zama and NAF Atsugi.

The town is a regular spot for my family and I to visit since we make sure to stop at Enoshima Island, a power spot, at the end of the New Year’s holiday season. Both Enoshima’s active, busy streets and Tsujido Town’s open, refreshing atmosphere make us recharged for the incoming year.

Terrace Mall Shonan is near a JR Station and has four stories filled with 280 shops and restaurants. The mall is designed to evoke a green hill and the walls of each floor are set back in a terraced manner so the various trees and flowers can create a beachy vibe.

As my wife and daughter enjoyed their shopping, I sat on the terrace under a parasol to enjoy a hot coffee and the refreshing, but chilly breeze blowing from Shonan Beach. From the terrace, I could also see the trains arrive and depart from the station.

We made sure to grab a bite to eat at the spacious food court, where a variety of restaurants serve up everything from Indian, Chinese and Italian to Japanese dishes like tonkatsu, shabu shabu and sushi.

Take a break, recharge and shop for some souvenirs at this beautiful shopping center!
