Okinawa Island hopping: 3 days, 3 islands, $300
Stripes Okinawa writer Shoji Kudaka is on a mission: Explore three Okinawan islands in three days and try to keep the cost around $300.
He started his journey 10 a.m. Sunday (May 14) by hopping on a ferry at Tomari Port and heading to Aka Island, a few miles off the Okinawa coast.
After his 90-minute ferry ride, he explored Aka until late afternoon when he jumped on another ferry headed to Zamami Island where he stayed overnight for under $30.
