*A closed-post event. Only SOFA personnel, MLC/IHA employees and anyone with ID access to the installations will be allowed to participate. No guests or visitors.
- All participants must wear a mask over their mouth and nose, if their costume isn’t already covering their face.
- Children and families must trick-or-treat in small groups while maintaining social distance.
- Those passing out candy must use hand sanitizer regularly, wear a mask and gloves, and hand the candy out individually, rather than allowing multiple children to reach into the same bowl.
- Households cannot leave a bowl of candy outside their door or on their porch with a “Please Take One” sign. This increases the chance for germ transmission.

Halloween Recommendations

Trick or Treat

  • Only Trick or Treat with your family or close contacts.
  • Keep a six foot distance from other groups while trick or treating.
  • Wash hands or wear gloves to pass out candy.
  • Find a clever way to pass out candy like:
    • A 6 ft chute or pipe, or a plastic barrier
    • Portion candy into individual bags, and leave these six feet from door to collect
    • Place a bowl six feet from your door and provide sign with instructions for self-service
  • Make a one way flow of traffic to your house.

Trunk or Treat

  • Set up a venue to allow at least six feet of distance between candy stations.
  • All venues should be outside unless you have the space to social distance inside (such as a hangar)
  • Single point entry with clear one way traffic signs.
  • Have clear rules dispalyed for the public to read.
  • Consider guest sign-in. Have hand sanitizer at entry, and require wear of a COVID-19 appropriate facemask.
  • Require each candy booth to have a plan to pass out candy with mask and gloves OR using a barrier OR some mechanism to pass out candy from a six foot distance such as the pipes described above.
