Christmas is just around the corner and you may be noticing more illuminations and holiday music around your favorite stores or local park. In Aomori Prefecture, home to Misawa Air Base, there is another unique vehicle delivering Christmas cheer on the go.

“Santa-go” takes the concept of advertisement trucks and adds the colors and sounds of the holiday to cruise the streets of Aomori and illicit the holiday spirit. This year, its fifth running, Santa-go’s fleet has expanded to three trucks, including the “Super Jumbo Santa-go,” a truck at a whopping 16.4 meters in length.

The trucks are visiting various kindergartens, daycare centers and nursing homes in and around Hachinohe City during the daytime and spreading the cheer along various routes and highways in the area at night.

Yoshihito Morita of Misawa Commissary spotted the eye-catching Santa-go at the Lake Ogawarako-Koyukan Road Station and took these photos.

Send us your pics if you come across Santa-go near your home on Facebook!
